Historic Tuscan Tenuta out of the 17th century with villa and annexe buildings
Historic Tuscan Tenuta for sale out of the 17th century with vineyards on about 12 ha. The agricultural estate belonged to the property of two well-known noble families in the past, Antinori and Aldobrandini, and was developed into a winery in the eighties of the last century. The historic vaulted wine cellar on the property seemed ideal for ageing in Barrique. Production and marketing of the estate's produce proved extremely successful, however, wine production was suspended in 2008 on grounds of age and lack of interest in the family circle. The estate's vineyards have been pruned and maintained ever since and the grapes have been sold to neighbouring wineries. This provides a good starting position for buyers with the option to immediately revive the production of quality wines on the premises. The main villa offers about 800 m² on four floors, the Fattoria building about 800 m² on two floors and the vaulted wine cellar about 750 m², also on two floors. A country house provides additional 400 m² and two annexe buildings contribute about 80 m² and 30 m². The surrounding plot is very idilic with a beautiful mature tree population. The villa still features the coat of arms of the Antinori family. The vineyards comprise about 5.5 ha Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot (planted in 2007) and about 6.5 ha Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Alicante and Trebbiano (planted in 1988). Additional 10 ha of vineyards could be planted to augment the estate's production.
