Agriturismo with winery near Saturnia 36 km from the sea

The estate is located in the municipality of Scansano with an unobstructed view of the countryside
The estate was born from the dream of the owner's parents. In 1995, during one of the many summer seasons, they heard from some acquaintances about the thermal baths of Saturnia, known as a unique place to relax. Somewhat fascinated by the story and considering the short distance, they set out to discover this place at the end of the season. They were immediately struck by the colors of the sunset, the landscape and the harmony of the rolling hills, the villages and the scent in the air. Here time seemed to stand still and pass more slowly, there was an enchanted atmosphere from another time that you just had to fall in love with.
As time passed, this stay became longer and longer and it became more and more difficult to leave these places again. After some thought, and considering their age approaching retirement, they decided to buy a farm in the area. They started looking for a "small" property in the area until one day an opportunity presented itself. In truth, it was a bit too big, but the area was really beautiful and quiet, surrounded by green hills, close to the thermal baths of Saturnia and Montemerano, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
However, there was a lot to do and the work was very demanding, but they liked challenges and hard work had never deterred them.
The children really didn't know what their parents saw there at the time and what they could do with such a large property. It was a stone farm with a barn for the animals, an outdoor oven, and an old pigsty that was falling apart! After a while they confessed to them that they planned to build a farmhouse there! A farmhouse at their age? But weren't they supposed to be enjoying their retirement? Obviously they didn't think about it at all, but were as enthusiastic as two children embarking on a new adventure and thinking big! Within two years they realized their dream. The construction of the building where the guests could stay, the transformation of the former stable into double rooms, a portico overlooking the vineyard and Montemerano. They had created from nothing a new small outbuilding with a restaurant where the customers could have breakfast, and they had renovated the owner's apartment, created the new vineyard and olive grove, built the wine cellar and a swimming pool where they could refresh themselves during the hot summer days. It was 2003, after more about two years, the time had come and everyone was very excited to see the opening.
