The dream of owning an organic winery in one of Europe's most famous wine-growing regions
In the best locations of one of the most famous wine-growing areas in Europe, on Lake Neusiedl in Austria, a wine project of a special kind is being created. A renowned winegrower and his team are at your disposal to help you find the perfect vineyard, plant it according to your wishes and organise and carry out all the work in the vineyard and cellar.
It is possible to start your own wine production from as little as one hectare, and it is up to you whether you want to buy or lease the land - and without investing in machinery, know-how and everything else that goes with being a winegrower. You will be able to follow the individual steps online via a web app, so that you are always close to the action and your wine is really yours in the end.
You set up your own winery with your own limited company and a name of your choice. If you wish, the team will also organise the notary and the opening of the business account for you. Of course, the winery can be founded with any number of co-partners. The vineyard area per Ltd. must be at least 1 hectare.
The Ltd. buys or leases plots of land for the planting of new vineyards. The team looks for suitable land for the grape varieties you wish to plant. You decide which parts you would like to buy or lease. In the case of a purchase, you receive ownership in the land register with your Ltd. You conclude a long-term management contract on a contract-for-work basis. The winegrower and his team take over and organise all the work in the vineyard, such as planting the vines or harvesting the grapes, or in the winery, pressing, fermentation, filtration or bottling the wines. All business management and protocol tasks such as bookkeeping and accounting including all tax returns, invoicing, winery bookkeeping, certifications and analyses will also be taken over. The headquarters of the Ltd. will be located directly at the production site.
You choose the bottles, labels and packaging and design your wines according to your wishes. Production will follow the guidelines of organic and sustainability certification. If you wish, the winegrower's distribution company will take over the distribution of your wines in return for a commission on sales. If you prefer to distribute your wines yourself, the winegrower and his team will also be happy to take care of the entire logistics and shipping of the wines. Furthermore, there is the possibility to store your wines under controlled storage conditions.
The initiators' winery also becomes a member and has its vineyards cultivated under the same conditions as your winery. The more wineries participate, the more favourable the production becomes for all. The initiators' winery provides a base area so that a basic capacity is already available at the beginning of the project.
The investment sum will probably be between EUR 100,000 and 125,000 per hectare in the case of a purchase, and between EUR 25,000 and 30,000 per hectare in the case of a lease. The yield per hectare of vines will range between 4,000 and 10,000 bottles, depending on the grape variety and the quality targeted. The production costs of the wines will be between EUR 3 and 5 per bottle, depending on the choice of bottles, corks and labels.
